Art Donation Opportunity

How heartbreaking would it be to lose your entire art collection? As you know, over 700 households in Slave Lake were destroyed by fire this spring.  Most people left their homes at the last minute, saving nothing.  While most homeowners were covered by a degree of insurance, replacing the works of art they have collected over the years will be a challenge. Our Slave Lake committee, in collaboration with Sunshine Treeshade Humanitarian Organization, is working to provide the gift of original Alberta art to people who lost their homes in the May wildfires.  Ideally, we would like to present each household with a piece of original Alberta art when they move into their new homes.  We estimate that we will need about 400 works of art and we are investigating some strategies to help make this happen.  We have arranged transport and donation centres in several Alberta communities.

At this time we are looking for donations of visual art from Alberta artists as well as suggestions to assist us with this project.
